Martin Professional’s new, high-powered moving head, the MAC 2000, won the award for Best New Lighting Product at the recent LIVE! Exhibition.

The MAC 2000 has generated a great deal of interest in the lighting industry since its introduction 5 months ago. It also generated a great deal of interest at a busy Martin stand throughout the week, capping a successful show with the ultimate accolade presented at the LIVE! Awards Dinner.

Some of Martin UK’s biggest customers in the stage lighting segment were on hand to witness the presentation, including Stage Electrics, White Light/Moving Light Co., Lighting Technology, A C Lighting, Essential Lighting and Royal Festival Hall. A pleased head of Martin UK, Claus Puggaard, accepted the award from Deep Purple lead singer Ian Gillan.

It is the second major industry accolade for Martin’s most advanced moving head having won the Award for Product Excellence at the PLASA show in September.

The LIVE! award continues the MAC series’ tradition of industry recognition that started with the successful MAC 500 and 600 over three years ago. The first in the MAC 2000 series, the MAC 2000 Profile is a high performance lighting tool for touring, theater and special event applications. It is based on input from some of the world’s top lighting professionals, and is equipped with an exceptional combination of extreme power and new projection possibilities.
